The next exhibit at the John A Hermann, Jr Memorial Art Museum in Bellevue will be opened on Saturday, February 1st at 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The exhibit, “Black Butterfly”, will celebrate Black History Month with the beautiful “Scratch Art” of Lorena Woods. Black Butterfly will be displayed from February 1st to March 1st. The museum, located at 318 Lincoln Ave, Bellevue PA 15202 is open from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Student Art
The John A. Hermann, Jr. Memorial Art Museum is exhibiting its annual Student exhibit now through January 26th. Art from the students of Northgate Middle/Senior High School, Bellevue and Avalon Elementary, and St. James of Sewickley, are on display on Saturdays and Sundays fro 1 pm to 4 pm. There are Peoples Choice ballots for all visitors to vote on their favorite paintings and objects of art. In addition, three professional artist, Bob Huckstein, Denise Fantazier and Bill Vrscak, will jury the exhibit. Award Certificates will be presented on Sunday, January 26th.

Council Reorganizes
Bellevue Council chose Val Pennington to be its President Monday evening. Jodi Hause was elected as the Vice-President. President Pennington then appointed Committee members for each of the Council Committees: Finance, DPW, Parks and Recreation and Public Safety. The Committees will meet on the first Tuesday of each month. The Pre-Council meetings will be on the second Tuesday and the Regular meeting of Council will be on the fourth Tuesday.

Hermann Museum
The John A. Hermann, Jr. Memorial Art Museum is looking for volunteer docents. The museum, located at 318 Lincoln Ave in Bellevue, has been reborn over the past few years and offers the community and elsewhere an experience of fine art. Docents will be trained to give tours of John Hermann's collection of over 1,000 peieces of paintings, bronze statues and ivory.
